Bond Beebe Principals Participate at IFEBP’s Trustees and Administrators Institute
Bond Beebe, a certified public accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia, announced that three of their Principals participated in the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans’ (“IFEBP”) Trustees and Administrators Institutes, which took place June 14-16, 2010 in San Diego, California. David Dorsey, Scott Price and Lawrence Beebe all participated in separate speaking engagements during the program. The Trustees and Administrators Institutes is a longstanding educational event that has been the cornerstone of education for new and advanced trustees and administrators of multiemployer trust funds for more than 40 years. The IFEBP is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to being a leading objective and independent global source of employee benefits, compensation and financial literacy education and information.
Dorsey presented “Trustee Expenses Revisited,” and moderated two sessions entitled “DOL Compliance: Form 5500 Update” and “Investment Auditing – Beyond the Basics – Part 2,” where Ian Dingwall, CPA of the Employee Benefits Administration, Thomas R. Noonan of Thomas R. Noonan, Inc. and Gus Riveira of LaPadula, Carlson + Co. spoke. Price moderated and co-presented a session entitled “The Changing World of Defined Benefit Plans: Post-PPA” with Jay K. Egelberg, ASA, FCA, MAAA, EA of Buck Consultants. Price also moderated a session entitled “The New FASB Accounting Standards Codification – What Does it Mean?” with Marilee Pierotti Lau of KPMG, LLP as the speaker. Beebe presented in three sessions, “Understanding the Fund’s Financial Statements,” “Filing Forms: You Want Me to Sign What?” and “A Trustee’s Two-Hat Dilemma,” which he co-presented with James J. Hynes, Executive Administrator of Twin City Pipe Trades Service Association and Peter M. Rosene of Rosene, Haugrud & Staab, Chartered. Beebe also led an open forum with Bonnie L. Maraia, Vice President of BeneSys Administrators.
