Bond Beebe, a certified public accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia, announced today that Alex Helfand, an auditor with the Firm, has completed the EnCase® Certified Examiner (EnCE®) program, which recognizes that an individual is a skilled computer forensics examiner. EnCase® Forensic is the industry-standard computer investigation solution; EnCE® certification is awarded to professionals who have mastered computer forensics investigation methodology, as well as the use of EnCase® software during complex computer examinations. A 2009 graduate of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, Helfand holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and has significant experience and training in the areas of computer programming and information technology systems.
Recognized by both the law enforcement and corporate communities as a symbol of in-depth computer forensics knowledge, EnCE® certification is presented to professionals who have shown an understanding of how to use computer forensics software to acquire data from a variety of devices, uncover potential evidence, perform analysis, and craft reports on these findings – all while maintaining the integrity of the evidence that will hold up in a court of law. “This certification will continue to expand the Firm’s wide range of forensic accounting services and enhance our litigation support efforts,” said John Merchant, Principal and leader of the Firm’s Forensic Accounting Practice Group.
