Bond Beebe Principals Teach at Benefit Plan Industry Conferences

Bond Beebe, a certified public accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia, announced that David P. Dorsey and Lawrence R. Beebe each taught educational classes to benefit plan industry accountants and trustees at programs sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (“IFEBP”) in Boston, MA.

Beebe and Dorsey taught various sessions at the Collections Procedures Institute, the Construction Industry Benefits Conference, and the Benefit Plan Professionals Institute for Accountants. The Benefit Plan Professionals Institute for Accountants is designed to offer up-to-date industry information and cutting-edge education to accountants and auditors, white the Construction Industry Benefits Conference and the Collections Procedures Institute educate trustees, administrators, and professionals in the proper administration of their plans and collections programs, respectively.

Beebe presented several sessions at the Collections Procedures Institute, September 18 – 19, 2013, including “Understanding the Collection Process” with Andrew E. Staab of Felhaber, Larson, Felon & Vogt, P.A; “Beyond the Signatory Employer” with Travis Ketterman of Whitfield McGann & Ketterman; and he participated in an “Ask the Experts” Panel with Raymond Orrand, Fund Administrator for the Ohio Operating Engineers Fringe Benefit Programs and Ruth Marcott of Felhaber, Larson, Felon & Vogt, P.A. He also presented “ACA Update” with Mark C. Nielsen, Esq. of Groom Law Group, Chtd. at the Construction Industry Benefits Conference, held September 16 – 17, 2013; presented “Audit Guide Changes” with Marilee P. Lau, CPA of KPMG LLP and moderated “Department of Labor Update” with Ian Dingwall of the Employee Benefits Security Administration at the Benefit Plan Professionals Institute for Accountants, September 16 – 18, 2013.

Dorsey presented “Withdrawal Liability” at the Benefit Plan Professional Institute for Accountants and participated in an open forum session with Lau. He co-presented “Audit and Accounting Update” with Kathleen M. Jackson, CPA of Novak Francella, LLC, as well as a joint two-part session for both the Benefit Plan Professional Institute for Accountants and the Construction Industry Benefits Conference, “Apprenticeship and Training Programs: Lessons Learned from DOL Audits,” with James W. Versockie, Esq., of Archer, Byington, Glennon & Levine LLP.
