Bond Beebe Principals Present at IFEBP’s 58th Annual Employee Benefits Conference

Bond Beebe, a certified public accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia, announced that three of their Principals participated in the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans’ (“IFEBP”) 58th Annual Employee Benefits Conference, which took place November 11 – 14, 2012 in San Diego, California.  David P. Dorsey, Scott M. Price and Lawrence R. Beebe each participated in separate speaking engagements during the program.  The IFEBP is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to being a leading objective and independent global source of employee benefits, compensation and financial literacy education and information; the Annual Employee Benefits Conference offers almost 200 sessions and workshops that address topics concerning those who serve multiemployer and public employee benefit plans and provides opportunities for networking and collaboration.

Dorsey co-presented several sessions, including “Auditing and Accounting Hot Topics,” with Jeffrey L. Goss, Partner, Miller Kaplan, Arase & Co., LLP and “An Update in Accounting and Auditing for Employee Benefit Plans” with Ian Dingwall, Chief Accountant, Employee Benefits Security Administration.  Dorsey also participated in the conference’s “Ask the Accountants” question and answer session.

Price moderated a session entitled “Healthcare Reform: Looking for Solutions – The Affordable Care Act Key Implementation Issues for 2012-2014” with Tamara S. Killion and Mark C. Nielsen, esq. of Groom Law Group, Chartered.  Price also presented the “Auditing and Accounting Standards Update” session.

Beebe presented the seminar “Living through a Department of Labor Audit,” and co-presented “Are You Wearing the Right Hat?,” a session dedicated to Trustee roles, with Peter F. Castellarin, Chief Executive Officer, M&O Insulation Company; Joseph J. Burke, Administrator, Iron Workers Mid-America Pension Fund; William A. Martin, Trustee, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 654; and Andrew Staab, Felhaber, Larson, Fenlon & Vogt, P.A.  Additionally, Beebe participated as a panelist in the Conference’s Trustees Masters Program®, and presented the “Understanding the Fund’s Financial Statements” class as a part of the New Trustees Institute.
